    Woody Allen

     

    Woody Allen was born Allen Stewart Konigsberg on December 1, 1935. He is an American author, playwright, screenwriter, actor, director, comedian and a musician who has dedicated 50 years of his life to the industry. He started off by writing jokes for television and also sold books in which he wrote humorous pieces. He then became a stand-up comedian and instead of traditional jokes, he started putting emphasis on monologues. By the mid 1960s, he was seen directing and writing films. Some of his best-known films are Annie Hall, Midnight in Paris, Hannah and Her Sisters and Manhattan.

    He has been a twenty four-time Academy Award nominee and has received four awards. He has also received nine BAFTA Awards. He was married to Diane Keaton for a year and then decided to marry Mia Farrow in 1980. He has three children. There is a book named ‘Woody Allen: A Biography’ that has been written by Eric Lax.
