    Born in Mexico, Rodrigo Prieto graduated in aeronautical engineering, NY. He was born on November 1965.

    Rodrigo Prieto became a cinematographer after he graduated from a small academy. In the year 2002, he made the film about the life of Frida Kahlo, the communist Mexican painter. A year later, together with Oliver Stone he made two documentaries. One of them was called commandant and was about Fidel Castro and one was about Yassir Arafat and was called Persona Non Grata. A year later, de made the movie Alexander for Stone. For the movies 21 Grams, Amores Perros, Beautiful and Babel, he worked together with Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu. He is known for the unconventional use of the camera and a strong lighting. He also used other techniques in order to create images that show that the events were visions or memories. With his wife Monica, as of now, Rodrigo Prieto is staying in LA, California.
