    The Navy Man Who Got Into Acting - Jack Lemmon

    Jack Lemmon is credited with 60 films in his acting career. In the year 1973 he won Best Actor Academy award for his role in the movie “Save the Tiger” and was a musician as well. His life of 76 years beginning from 8th February 1925 till 27th June 2001 was very eventful. Right from the age of eight years he dreamt of becoming an actor in life; but an ensign in Navy during the initial years of his career post passing out of Harvard University (1947 batch).

    Jack Lemmon’s acting career began with radio, TV and Broadway; he couldn’t make his presence felt in the acting arena before 1954. He came to limelight for the first time in 1954 while he played opposite Judy Holliday in a comedy movie “It Should happen to You”. Post this he didn’t have to take a look back and continued acting opposite the then leading ladies such as Betty Grable, Doris Day, Marilyn Monroe and others.
