    Freddie Francis also known as Frederick William Freddie Francis was an excellent and critically acclaimed cinematographer who generally worked in the sector of English film industry. He was not only a cinematographer but also a critically acclaimed director. He had achieved a numerous awards and achievements in portraying as a filmmaker which includes several Academy Awards especially in the films of Sons and Lovers which released in the year of 1960 and Glory which released in the year 1989, have given him much critical acclamation and awards. He always had a reputation of cult while directing films in the production house of British companies like Amicus and the well known company Hammer which emerged and collaborated with him in the late 1960s and the last years of 1970s.

    He was born in London and brought up in Islington. He had an ambition of becoming an engineer while doing schooling. In the year of 1939, he united in the participation of army and passed about seven years in pursuing army.
