    Richard Attenborough

     

    Richard Samuel Attenborough, Baron Attenborough was born on August 29, 1923. Along with being the President of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), he is a British film director, actor, producer and entrepreneur. He has three Golden Globe Awards and four BAFTA Awards to his name. He has also received two Academy Awards for Gandhi in the year 1983 as producer and director.

    He has done numerous amounts of film playing the role of actor or producer or director. His last film was ‘Closing the Ring’ in the year 2007 wherein he was the producer and director. In 2012, he put up his family home for sale in the market for £11.5 million. In the year 2013, his son Michael confirmed that Attenborough had moved into a nursing home in London with his wife to be under constant health care. He has been married to Sheila Sim since 1945.
