    Jack Cardiff was born on September 18, 1914 and died on April 22,2009. He was a director, cinematographer and photographer.  He was awarded an OBE for his contributions to cinema. Jack was born in great Yarmouth, Norfolk.  He was the son of john joseph Cardiff and Florence. He was an actor at the early stages of his life. He took part in films such as the loves ofMary, tiptoes andBillys rose. He started his career in cinematography at the age of 15. He was a camera assistant for British international pictures.  He graduated as a camera operator in 1935. He died of natural causes at the age of 94. He left behind a wife and four sons. Some of his films are the prince and the showgirls, a matter if life and death, the Vikings, fanny, knight without armor and legend of the lost among others.
