    Jason Robards – The Stage, Film & TV Performer

    Jason Robards was born on 26th July 1922 and passed away in 2000; precisely on 26th December. But within this span of his life he has left an indelible mark in American cinema, television as well as stage performances. This United States Navy man of World War II turned actor was the recipient of Emmy Award, Tony Award and Academy Award for twice alongside others. Jason was applauded for his outstanding performances in the role of historical figures as well as a middle class common man – so powerful yet trivial was his personality which in essence created a magic in his both the avatars.

    Jason was born in Chicago; but later his family shifted to New York when Jason was still a toddler. Jason got into acting career post the World War II and began his acting career with the radio. This brilliant rare breed of actor died of lung cancer and the Roundabout Theatre Company of New York institutionalized The Jason Robards Award in memory and cognizance of his contribution cum association with the said theatre.
