      Piper Laurie, the American screen and stage actress was born as Rosetta Jacobs in the year 1932. She is well known for her roles in the TV series called Twin Peaks and other movies like, Carrie, and Children of a Lesser God. Both of them fetched her Academy Award for the year 1991. She is also the recipient of the Golden Globe Award for her character portal in Twin Peaks. Piper took birth in Detroit, USA. She is the youngest daughter of Sir Alfred Jacobs and Charlotte Sadie. Her grandparents were native of Poland and were the Jewish immigrants. She moved to California in the year 1938 and attended Hebrew school. There she took several minor roles which led her to act in movies later. The Universal studios changed her life. She signed the contract with Universal studios in 1949; thereafter her life was changed drastically.
